Krishna University Library was established in 2008. Soon after its inception, immediate importance was given for a good collection development of Text Books and Reference Books. As the University is in a relatively nascent state, the central library played its part in contributing to the development of the university by adding more volumes to its stock. Besides housing an excellent print collection of over 17000+ volumes to cater to the needs of Post Graduate students, research scholars, faculty members and other staff of all the three constituent colleges of Krishna University, it also provides access to popular magazines, selected journals, Theses, reports, e-books, e-journals in Sciences, Humanities, Social Sciences and Engineering and technology.
The cost of Books acquired by the university is Rs. 61.03 lakhs, funded mainly from the university resources. The University desires to purchase more books from other resources also. With the guidance of the advisory committee, the library is marching towards its goal by taking some good initiatives like providing fully air-condition facility in the library, Digital library with e-resources, separate server for library operation, good collection of documents, and providing sufficient computers in the library for accessing OPAC and E-Resources, developing a property counter with security and CCTV cameras for proper surveillance of the library.
The Central Library currently subscribed e-Resources through e-Shodh Sindhu, DELNET, which is available 24X7 to both in-house and remote users.
