Krishna University (KRU) celebrated the 11th International Day of Yoga in a grand and vibrant manner at its Rudravaram campus, in line with the global theme “Yoga for One Earth, One Health.” Students including NCC cadets, NSS volunteers, faculty members from campus constituent colleges and non-teaching staff participated enthusiastically in the programme.
Yogi Maharaj Sri P. Srinivasa Rao, who not only demonstrated but also trained and engaged the participants in different types of standing, sitting, and supine (sleeping) asanas. During the session, he explained the physical, mental, and spiritual benefits of each posture and emphasized how yoga can significantly improve health without the need for expensive treatments or medications, making it an accessible and sustainable practice for all.
As part of the celebrations month-long programme of International Yoga Day, various yoga-related events and competitions were conducted for students during the month. Winners were honoured with prizes and certificates, and all participants of the month-long yoga training programme were awarded certificates of participation during the ceremony.
