A lecture on “Health & Nutrition with a Focus on Sedentary Lifestyle and Obesity” was organized by Krishna University in association with the NSS Cell on 17th June 2025 at the Rabindranath Tagore Seminar Hall, as part of the month-long Yogandhra 2025 initiative. Prof. K. Ramji, Hon’ble Vice-Chancellor of Krishna University, graced the event as the Chief Guest. In his address, he emphasized the special focus of the Government of Andhra Pradesh on Education and Health, highlighting the state’s proactive steps in promoting holistic well-being and also mentioned that the Government of Andhra Pradesh is organizing Yogandhra 2025 in a grand manner on 21st June 2025, marking the occasion of International Yoga Day. He underlined the importance of incorporating daily Yoga practice, noting that even a small commitment of time each day can significantly enhance the quality and longevity of life. He also advocated for a return to traditional dietary habits while avoiding modern processed foods to combat rising lifestyle diseases. During the programme, Sri Vidyasagar Bodapati, Senior Wellness Coach and Nutrition Specialist addressed the gathering and created awareness among students, faculty, and non-teaching staff on the impact of current dietary habits and their adverse health consequences. His insightful session highlighted the importance of mindful eating, balanced nutrition, and lifestyle adjustments necessary to maintain long-term health and well-being.
Further, Prof. M.V. Basaveswara Rao, Rector, Prof. N. Usha, Registrar, Sri M. DSS Ratan, Finance Officer, and Dr. M. Sravani, Coordinator, NSS Cell, also addressed the gathering and spoke on the importance of incorporating yoga into daily life for physical and mental well-being. Principals of Constituent Colleges, NSS Programme Officers, faculty members, students, and non-teaching staff participated in the programme..
