Awareness Lectures and Community Plantation Drive at Krishna University with a theme of “Ending Plastic Pollution” under Swarnandhra-Swachh Andhra programme on third Saturday of July, 2025
As part of its ongoing commitment to social responsibility and environmental awareness, Krishna University organized a series of lectures and community outreach activities on 19th July 2025.
Prof. K. Ramji, Hon’ble Vice-Chancellor of Krishna University, motivated the third-year B.Tech. students of all branches from the University College of Engineering and Technology about the incorporation and establishment of Youth Redcross units and enrolment of students in Youth Red Cross units as volunteers using APREDCROSS APP and active participation in Red Cross through a powerpoint presentation and delivered an insightful lecture on various university-led social initiatives, including the AP Climate Action Campaign of the Indian Red Cross Society held in a programme conducted at Rabindranath Tagore Seminar Hall. Parallelly, Dr. M. Sravani, NSS Programme Coordinator, addressed students from all courses of the University College of Arts & Science at the MBA Seminar Hall (Room No. 301). Dr. D. Ramasekhara Reddy, NCC Officer, delivered a session for the students of the University College of Pharmaceutical Sciences and Research at the Chemistry Seminar Hall. Dr. P. Gopi, Physical Instructor, KRUCET, interacted with final-year B.Tech. students of the University College of Engineering and Technology at the Chemistry Conference Hall.
In a significant act of environmental commitment, the campus was cleaned with a theme of “Ending Plastic Pollution” under Swarnandhra-Swachh Andhra programme on third Saturday of July, 2025. On this occasion, plants were designated for a plantation programme conducted within the Krishna University campus with the help of 10,000 plants donated to Krishna University by Dr. Rallapalli Venkata Lakshmana Swamy (popularly known as “Chinnapuram Doctor”) from Machilipatnam. The programme was successfully conducted with the coordination of Coordinator, NSS and constituent colleges NSS units of Krishna University along with enthusiastic participation of NSS Volunteers, students, teaching, and non-teaching staff of the University. Prof. N. Usha, Registrar of Krishna University also participated in the plantation programme.
