World Earth Day was celebrated on 22nd April 2026 by the National Service Scheme (NSS) units of the constituent colleges of Krishna University, along with the Krishna University College of Engineering and Technology, at the KRU Campus, Rudravaram. The programme was organized under the theme “Our Planet, Our Power.”

As part of the celebrations, a plantation programme was conducted to promote environmental awareness and sustainability. A pledge was also administered to all participants, reaffirming their commitment to protect the environment and promote eco-friendly practices.

Prof. M.V. Basaveswara Rao, Rector of Krishna University, and Sri V. Vidhyasagar Naidu, IPS, Superintendent of Police, Krishna District, attended the event as chief guests.

On this occasion, Prof. Y.K. Sundara Krishna, Principal of the University College of Engineering and Technology, and Prof. Y. AVASN Maruthi, Head of the Department of Biosciences and Biotechnology, delivered insightful lectures highlighting the importance of environmental conservation.

Dr. M. Sravani, NSS Coordinator, along with teaching and non-teaching staff of UCAS and KRUCET, actively participated in the programme, contributing to its grand success.
