The Department of Commerce and Management, University College of Arts and Science, Krishna University, organized an awareness programme titled “SUPER GST SUPER SAVINGS” on 16 October 2025. The event was held as part of the national campaign aimed at promoting awareness about GST reforms and the benefits of GST 2.0 among students and academic institutions.

The programme commenced with the presence of distinguished dignitaries including the Honorable Vice-Chancellor, Prof. K. Ramji, the Registrar, Prof. N. Usha, and Smt. Swarupa Rani, Deputy Assistant Commissioner, Machilipatnam, who graced the occasion as the Chief Guest. Faculty members from various departments and a large number of students participated in the event.

Dr. M. Sravani, Assistant Professor and Head (i/c) of the Department of Commerce and Management, delivered the introductory remarks, highlighting the salient features and potential advantages of GST 2.0 reforms for businesses and consumers. The Chief Guest, Smt. Swarupa Rani, elaborated on the significance of GST and enlightened the gathering about the benefits of compliance, transparency, and fiscal discipline under the current tax regime. Her insights helped students and faculty gain a practical understanding of tax structures and savings through GST mechanisms.

During the interactive session, the Honorable Vice-Chancellor, Prof. K. Ramji, discussed the challenges faced by higher educational institutions concerning taxation and sought solutions to streamline tax compliance. The Registrar, Prof. N. Usha, concluded the meeting by reiterating the importance of active participation in tax reform awareness and the vital role educational institutions play in fostering responsible financial citizenship.

The event successfully achieved its objective of enhancing awareness about GST reforms while encouraging academic engagement in national economic initiatives.
